About Zara Malik
Zara Malik is an emotional wellness advocate, community builder, and writer who brings radical honesty to conversations about stress, anxiety, and emotional health. As Wellness Community Lead at Richmond Balance, she creates spaces where women can be real about how they feel — without judgment or toxic positivity.
Background
Zara grew up in Chicago in a Pakistani-American family where mental health wasn't discussed openly. After her own journey through anxiety and burnout in her mid-20s, she became passionate about normalizing emotional struggle — especially for women of color and immigrant communities where "being strong" often means suffering in silence.
Areas of Expertise
- Stress management and emotional regulation
- Anxiety coping strategies for high-achievers
- Cultural stigma around mental health
- Community-based emotional support
Philosophy
Zara writes the way she wishes someone had spoken to her during her hardest days — with empathy, honesty, and zero performative positivity. She doesn't promise "5 steps to happiness." She promises to sit with you in the mess and help you find your way through it.
"Feeling everything is not weakness. It's your superpower — once you learn to work with it."
